I am a freelance independent researcher, with a background in research and library policy. I undertake work on behalf of public libraries, library organisations and academic institutions in the area of information and libraries.
Prior to becoming a freelance researcher, I was previously the senior libraries development adviser for the Welsh Government, responsible for a wide range of programmes including the National Digital Library Service, the all-Wales marketing team, reader development, capital refurbishment grant programme, strategy evaluations, Welsh Public Library Standards and expanding the bibliotherapy scheme.
Underpinning my policy experience I have qualifications in research, having gained my PhD at Aberystwyth University.
I have excellent communication and project management skills, alongside a deep understanding of policy making and delivery. I worked directly with library services and a number of UK organisations including the British Library, Carnegie UK Trust, CILIP, CIPFA, National Library of Wales and The Reading Agency, to help develop, promote and enhance library provision in Wales.
I enjoy and have considerable experience of working with dispersed colleagues as well as working independently.
If you are interested in what I can offer please read my ‘services’ page and do get in touch if you have any questions.
